K12 Online Conference Post! Culllltivation

I viewed a online conference about "cultivation" and how it has to do with the educational process, which was very interesting. David Warlick (presenter in the video) made an interesting point that really caught my attention. He talked about how he would like to see textbooks go completely digital so that we could save money on textbooks, and of course it caught my attention! I would love to save money on textbooks, and I also understand how this would be easier on students, because they wouldn't have to carry around books that they only read half of. Also, David mentioned that todays education is very similar to an ecosystem because information is constantly being fed in and out of our students. His point was that information in the educational realm is in constant motion, just like an ecosystem. I really appreciated the video, and felt that his "cultivation" approach to education was refreshing and intruiging, as well as insightful.
